Boledrin's eyes snapped open, but the scenery had changed. The Chain Daemon he was shielding himself from was no longer towering over him. Instead, a harpy perched on his legs, leaning towards him with a sickening smile and a single finger to his head.
Bole flinched away, batting at her hand. His eyes were wide with horror as he realized that he was no longer in the camp. His companions were now absent, save for the haughty sorceress and his young best friend, Katsigrisa. He squinted into the darkness, attempting to make out her face, but she stepped back, falling deeper into the shadows of the strange plane.
"It's done," the Harpy whispered, pulling back from the terrified wizard.
Something was wrong.

So, I finally finished this damn thing! I'm really happy with it, though. And I didn't *totally* cop out on the background, either! Prepare to see updates as I stare obsessively at it.
Note: Apparently my monitor displays crap a helluva lot darker than some others. There's not much I can do about this, so please be aware that the background looks quite different on different computers.
Thanks, Jimmy. You know I love getting feedback from ya. This picture ended up being a few firsts for me: An integrated, less backdrop-y background, unique lighting perspective, and multiple interacting characters. It was, well, really some new territory.
